DIMAPUR An official of the NSCN-IM, Anthony Shing alias Ningkhan Shimray, is reported to have gone missing in Kathmandu, Nepal, and his present whereabouts are unknown. He is stated to be the ‘Head of Foreign Affairs’ of the NSCN-IM.
According to a statement issued by the Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) Delhi on the ‘enforced disappearance’ of the NSCN member, Anthony Shing disappeared after he landed at Kathmandu international airport on September 27 last while on his way to India to attend the next round of peace talks on September 29.
He flew from Bangkok with Royal Nepal Airlines flight number AR 402. Two acquaintances and the driver of the hotel’s pick-up service waited for him at the airport for hours, but he did not appear nor did he get in touch with the hotel or anyone else of his contacts in Kathmandu, it was informed.
According to the Rights body, preliminary investigations initiated by a human rights group in Kathmandu on the same day have revealed that Shing on arrival had passed immigration. It has also been ascertained that he has not been arrested or detained by the police there, it said.
The human rights group reportedly elicited the help of an MP and even Home Ministry officials there to get some information but could not make any headway. However, on Sept 29, the group reportedly came to learn from a reliable source within the government that Anthony Shing had been arrested right after crossing immigration.
There are also eye witnesses to this, who, however, have requested anonymity, it informed.
Based on the evidence so far collected and the precedence of the attempted enforced disappearance earlier, NPMHR said it is believed that Anthony Shing was arrested and deported by the Indian Government’s intelligence service.
Further noting that no case has been filed against Shing in any court in India and that no arrest warrant has been issued for him by the Indian authorities, the rights body alleged that the Indian Government has ‘not only violated its own laws and the national sovereignty of Nepal with its unlawful abduction/arrest of Anthony Shing on Nepalese soil, but has also clearly violated international law.
Unconditional release demanded Source: Hueiyen News Service
Imphal, October 04 2010: NISC has demanded immediate and unconditional release of Anthony Shing. head of foreign affairs of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland, the Naga Peoples representative in the Peace Talks who was abducted in Kathmandu, Nepal and now in custody of the Government of India agents.

It has be confirmed that Anthony Shing, who after clearing immigration at Kathmandu airport then disappeared, reportedly has been apprehended by agents of the Government of India.

The Naga International Support Center along with numerous other human rights organization strongly protests against this abduction as it is not only a violation of the ceasefire between the Government of India and the Naga Peoples but also the action of the Government of Nepal which without a shadow of a doubt assisted the Indian agents.

Anthony Shing was on his way to Delhi via Kathmandu where he was scheduled to have meetings and to see friends.

The next day he was booked to go to Delhi and take part in the peace talks between the Government of India and the NSCN of Nagaland .

NISC criticizes the Government of Nepal for allowing the Government of India to apprehend Anthony Shing as it is a gross violation of Human Rights.

NISC condemns the snake like forked tongue behavior of the Government of India as it violated the Ceasefire while assuring the Naga Peoples time and again that it is sincere in expediting the talks to come to a mutually agreeable solution of this long overdue, 60 years, old conflict.

NISC calls on the International Community to raise this violation of Human Rights, Indigenous Rights and the violation of Ceasefire in each and every forum of the United Nations; the European Community and ASEAN.
Nagas from Manipur flooding into reserve forest : NSCN-K Hueiyen News Service / Newmai News Network
Dimapur, October 05 2010: The NSCN-K has been irked by the alleged threat to the Intanki Reserve Forest because of the flooding of Nagas from Manipur into the reserve forest in Nagaland in the last ten years.

The NSCN-K, also called GPRN/NSCN said tonight that in the last ten years large number of Nagas from Manipur have settled in the Intanki Reserve Forest.

It alleged that the Government of Nagaland evicts only the settlers from Nagaland from the Intanki Reserve Forest and not the Nagas from outside the state of Nagaland settling in the reserve forest.

"In the last ten years, the trend of bringing in new families each year from Naga inhabited areas of Manipur and planting them in the Intanki Reserve Forest in Nagaland has become the biggest threat to the treasured reserve forest.

GPRN/NSCN would like to point out that the so-called encroachments by tribes from Nagaland state is paltry compared to the vigorous colonies and establishments taking place by transplanted Nagas from other states in many pockets of the Intanki Reserve Forest, yet surprisingly, all evictions are done only to settlers from Nagaland state.

The Nagaland state government is a nervous spectator watching the sinister drama taking place at Intanki Reserve Forest," the NSCN-K (GPRN/NSCN) said.

The Naga outfit advised that it is high time for the Naga tribal bodies in the state of Nagaland, NGOs and civil societies, student bodies and other concerned authorities to propose a spot verification in the Intanki Reserve Forest "because it is a National Reserve Forest and not a rehabilitation area".

NSCN-IM resumes verbal attack on Jamir Source: The Sangai Express / Newmai News Network
Dimapur, October 05 2010: Former Nagaland chief minister S.C Jamir has come under verbal attack again from the NSCN-IM.

On Tuesday, the NSCN-IM accused the veteran politician of Nagaland as deliberately striving to fragment the Naga society and sabotage the on going Indo-Naga peace talks.

The NSCN-IM also accused S.C Jamir as one of the architects of military coup in 1978 where hundreds of patriots were killed.

"Despite various intolerable circumstances, the NSCN is all out for reconciliation based on the historical and political rights of the Nagas.

While Nagas across the length and breadth of Nagalim are striving for reconciliation and peaceprocess, there are few notorious politicians who are deliberately striving to fragment the Naga society and sabotage the on going Indo-Naga peace talks.

The NSCN stand is very clear that we have no ill-will towards or enmity with any party or individual.

But we do not tolerate any act of those who work overtly or covertly against the national principle.

It is crystal clear to all and sundry how a man like Mr.S.C Jamir works against his own people from the very outset of the movement," the NSCN-IM said.

The NSCN-IM then said that S.C Jamir has been a thorn in the fresh of the Naga people's politics of national independence.

The Naga outfit accused that it was Jamir who was deadly opposed to solution during A.Z.Phizo's time.

The NSCN-IM further alleged that S.C Jamir and his colleagues divided the Nagas through the 16-points agreement.

"S.C Jamir was one of the architects of military coup in 1978 where hundreds of patriots were killed.

He has been harboring and using Khaplang group against the national cause since 1988.Apart from the colossal forces of India , Khaplang group has always been a good instrument for his election to power.

He is the real godfather of mafia in Nagalim who adopts any means to sit him in the chair.

Even at his advance stage of age he is still scheming to sacrifice the future of the Naga people in order to appease the goddess of his master, India .

He, using the sweetest words, often tries to convince people in Delhi with twisted version of Naga history.

Again he is out to give his all out last efforts for a bloodstain political game.

In spite of all his anti-national activities, NSCN leadership warmly welcomed and officially talked with him in the presence of Ao Senden a few months back.

Quite contrary to what has been understood together he has still the instinct to sting his own people," the NSCN-IM stated.

The Naga outfit then expressed that it would like to give S.C Jamir a piece of advice that he can never murder his nation however hard he strikes.

"No power on earth has ever killed the inherent right of a people and it will never happen in future too.

It is far better for you to reconcile with your own people and live peacefully than inimical to them for the remaining last part of your life," the statement of NSCN-IM said.

The NSCN condemned in the strongest term of the highhandedness of the 6th Assam Rifles (AR) who shamefully and irresponsibly attacked the NSCN camp at Namsa-Tizit, Mon district, in the morning of 26th August 2010 in which one Major of Naga Army was killed on the spot and 5 of them were abducted with their weapons and a laptop despite the ceasefire agreement between the government of India and the NSCN. This act of the AR is really provocative and vitiation of the peaceful atmosphere in the area. The AR at Tizit and Government of India will be fully responsible for any fallouts of this ugly incident.

In Dimapur area also the AR tactically identified houses of some of the NSCN functionaries by taking photos in the morning of 26th August 2010, harassing the family members and their neighbours.

The AR claim that they are the friends of the hill people but, actually AR are the real enemy of the hill people and as per their track records, AR are the most barbaric and savage Para military Forces in India. They are the trouble makers wherever they may be. The people of Nagalim have scant regard for them.
